Pal's coming to Norton?

someone told me that the Kingsport paper had something about Pals coming into Norton.

I have heard the rumor so many times over the last 2-3 years that until I see a building being erected or a parcel purchased under their corporation name then I ain't believing it.

Yeah, we've supposed to got one about 10 times. Ate at the newer one in Lebanon this weekend, always good.

It's true. I talked to the President of PAL's, Tom Crosby.
He said they are working on a property deal in the Wise/Norton area.
That is confirmed, without a doubt. Straight from the owners mouth.

Again, until that parcel is purchased then I ain't believing it. I have heard of about 4 different spots throughout Norton/Wise that they were going to locate but it never happened. Mainly because the price of the lot was so steep and the owners wouldn't come down far enough to make it work.

I hope it does but it will have to be in the right location for it to work.

Did he mention exactly where they were trying to lock up the land?

I would love to have a Pal's somewhere near my home here in North Carolina. Everytime I get to go back to Virginia I have to eat at Pal's at least once. Dang it, now I'm hungry and the nearest Pal's is four hours away.

Nope, he just said Norton/Wise area.
I had to talk to him about Jam 4 Man, and then it got on the topic about how much it would cost for a person to own a PAL's, which was right around $1million in assets. Then it got to them working on a property deal, and said it would be done.

I'm with you. It's just a perpetually recirculated rumor, and I'll believe when I see it in operation (along with the Ruby Tuesday's in the Alltel Store, Olive Garden and Golden Corrall in the empty storefronts near Goody's, the TGIF beside Sonic... etc. etc. )

I had a co-worker tell me a few months ago that her father-in-law told her he got the power-turn-on order for Pal's: "so there - that's proof it was coming."
1) The electric order for Pal's wont say "Pal's"
2) She and he never could give me an address or even so much as a town.
3) And most importantly: It didn't happen.

Had another coworker tell me if I went to the Pal's website - and she "knew this for a FACT" - and check the locations it would say "coming soon" on the map and showed downtown Wise. Well, if you're going to say things like that you should really check the website yourself first. It's not there.
